Hemp & CBD Expo’s first expo show took place on March 2nd & 3rd at the NEC and the organizers and team have been reflecting on their success. It has been said that this was the “best first show” some people have ever been too! The show was aimed at B2B rather than B2C, this was to try and help the CBD/Hemp industry in its fledging years to grow and expand.
Weed World were media partners at their first show and we caught up with one of the organizers, Tommy, to get his thoughts on how the show went for him and his team.
“We had nearly five and a half thousand visitors in attendance, some amazing speakers’ seminars, glowing reviews from both visitors and exhibitors, and we were featured within the national press…we’ve had an amazing weekend and we could not be happier with our efforts to put on an industry leading event first time out.”
“When walking around the show it was great to see the array of products on display from exhibitors large and small, with a balance of seasoned veterans in Pura Vida and CBDfx to the new launches of CBD products to market from Wellacy, WPE, Dinner Lady and Cannazill, not to mention innovation such as Phyllo an AI security system and machinery from companies such as Medgro, BHO hardware and Urban Extracts, and of course Platinum sponsors GenCanna and Gold Sponsors Bluhen Botanicals providing assistance and advice on agricultural processes and raw materials solutions – there truly was something for everyone to enjoy.”
“The seminar area (based in the middle of our show) turned out to be massive success and one of our proudest accomplishments, witnessing hundreds of visitors desperate for knowledge and information on what makes our industry so great, and where we need to aim for to continually make strides for hemp and CBD in this country. Every single speaker was passionate, articulate, and gave highly valuable talks covering the whole spectrum of the industry.”
Following their first success, Hemp & CBD Expo have already announced and their second Expo at the same venue: “It will be bigger and better than the first show,” explains Tommy, “With many of our exhibitors already committed to rebooking and expanding for the September edition.”
The projected numbers for September will be 8,000 visitors coming to an expanded floorspace of 7,200sqm, with room for 160+ exhibitors. Based on the success of the seminar stage we will be adding a second ‘Business Pro seminar stage’ with the intention of increasing speakers’ slots and allowing for longer and more in-depth seminars for those who would like more of a detailed education over the weekend.
Also, their Awards ceremony will also feature an upgrade with a concourse suite booked for the Saturday 14th evening, with dinner and tickets able to be purchased by exhibitors and VIP B2B guests.

Weed World’s final thoughts on the show. For us, it was really well organized – it had a great atmosphere; it was busy and great for businesses and it was interesting to see this new emerging Hemp & CBD industry growing. We look forward to working with Hemp and CBD Expo team again as one of their Media Partners and will see you all in September!
